MANLY FOOTBALLER SELECTED SYDNEY, Feb. 1. Rugby Union footballer and a litesaver, Ron Webb, was chosen yesterday to be the doble for Charles Farrell in t-he coming production of the picture, “The Flying Doctor.” Webb will be called upon to do some sensational stunting in the next few months. He will have to take part in collapses of bridges, rescues in rivers, jumping from high cliffs and many other thrilling acts, but he said last night that he would not be alarmed at any of the jobs he is asked to perforin. The first stage of the competiiton was at Bondi surf carnival, when 25 lifesavers lined up to be judged by Messrs. Miles Mander, director of trie “The Flying Doctor,’’ Charles Farrell, and F. Daniell, general manager of National Productions, Ltd., Pagewood. Test at Studio. The final was not decided on the beach. Five of the competitors were selected and taken to Pagewood.
