MASTERTON RAM FAIR

SOUTHDOWNS IN DEMAND [ Per Press Association. ] MASTERTON, Feb. 21. The demand for stud and flock Southdowns offered at the Masterton A. and P. Association’s annual ram fair today, was in direct contrast to that prevailing for Romneys on the opening day, and the sale may be characterised as highly satisfactory. Mr H. J. Andrews, the South I'land breeder, topped the market for flocks, securing Signs., while a stud Southdown ram lamb offered on account of Sir William and Mr R. M. Perry realised 85gns. Mr A. C. Vile, of Bulls, purchased a Perry ram and Mr N J. Cullinane. Dannevirko, paid 77gns. for a ram offered on account of Mr J. H. Andrews. Twenty-five studs sold at an average of about 22gns. as compared with 17gns. for 21 sG’.d last year. Top price for n st ml last, venr was 40gns.
