TE RAPA GALLOPS PREPARING FOR TO-DAY'S MEETING The flags were 60 feet out from the rails on the course proper at Te Kapa on Thursday morning and the going was good. The best gallops- were those of Boughal, Whirling, Kilberis, Diacquedoon and Rex Victor. Star Artist and Light Comedy went off from the. seven-furlongs post and, joined by Whirling at the six, ran home in 1.36, the last six furlongs in 1.22. It was a very useful effort on the part of all three and they should lack nothing on the score of fitness for the coming meeting. Jan Kidd and Stormy Weather were practically on terms at the conclusion of five furlongs in. 1.9 4-5. Teak, who galloped the reverse way on the No. 1 grass, recorded 51s. for half a mile. He in- in good heart. Kilberis, who shaped well on Saturday, ran six furlongs under restraint in 1.24 2-5. Sinking Fund was half a length in front of Prince Colossus at the end of seven furlongs in 1.36 2-5, the first half-mile in 55 3-s»=. Matoru was shaded by Philemup at the conclusion of half a mile in 54 l-ss. It was a fair effort for horses of their class. Adalenc was just in front of La Femme Noire, with I)i»t Up beaten

off, at the end of five furlongs in 1.6 A. The best half-mile of the morning was registered by Diacquedoon and Rex Victor, who recorded 54, it was Rex Victor's first gallop for some time and his effort was encouraging. Con Fuoco finished in front of King Theo at the end of six furiongn in 1.21, a useful effort. Anagram ran five furlongs in 1.9 1-5, Cappy running the same distance in l.Si. Boughal, under a strong pull, covered six furlongs m 1.23, the first three in 40 4-5. He should be one of the hardest io beat in the open sprint to-day. There was little between Worthy King, Fun ot Scotch and Le Chasseur at the end of half a mile in 555. Gay Chief recorded 555. for half a mile. Racefield ran live furlongs in 1.10. '■ Among those to do useful work were Brown Abbey, Valrent, Wahino Reihi, Surview, Tradesman and Parquet. No Fooling (Cotter) and Nebulae (Lawson) were associated in a schooling bout over six hurdles, ValoiuU£ (Gilmer), joining in ove k the last four. Curlew (Rennie) and Racewhip (L. Dulieu) were sent over four hurdles and shaped satisfactorily. Ghaytor has arrived and has been placed in J. Carroll's cuarge during Jx. Mclntosh’rs absence in Australia. Royal Appellant was net doing his best to run half a mile jn 56 2-ss. He has freshened up nicely since racing at Takapuna. After taking 38 l-ss. for the first three, Solats completed six furlongs in 1.18. She appeared to be Hanging on better than usual at the end. Gay Princess and the Speardance — Mavellish mare ran six furlongs in 1.21 4-5. They are steadily acquiring good condition and arc 'working with some promise. Whirlmint ran a circuit in 2.1. taking 52 2-ss. for the last half-mile. She is in good racing condition. United finished on terms with Spearcourt after the latter had jumped away in front from the half-mile post in 52 1-5. United worked well and his time was better than that recorded. United (Sea-ger), after sprinting earlier, jumped six small hurdles and did his work in improved style. Te Kapia (Sharkey) was sent a round over four hurdles, fencing carefully.
