“WHITE HORSE INN”

J. C. WILLIAMSON’S WONDERFUI SHOW. SEASON BEGINS TONIGHT. To-night nt 8 o’clock at the OperW House the J. C. Williamson Ltd. manj agement. will present the opening gala performance of the gigantic London Coliseum Theatre musical play ‘‘White Horse Inn,” whudi, with its huge revolving stage, which will be seen here for the first time, and its company of j over 150 people, has been acclaimed as .lhe most colossal stage production that has ever been seen in New Zealand. (During the past few days the forward stiff ol mechanics, electricians an I technical experts have been busily engaged in building the stupendous revoking stage, instadi".g the latest and most up-to-date lighting effects, and making essential structural alterations to the theatre. A full and comprehensive rehearsal of the various effects took place last night, so that there is no possibility of a hitch occurring fit this evening's gala performance. There has been a large demand for seats, hut the booking is not quite so heavy for to-night's opening performance as for subsequent representations. In Auckland there were a few vacant seats <n the first night but the following morning the box plans were rusiiel and it was a difficult matter to procure a sent during the whole of the buhnee of the season there. As a musical spectacle in (oiour, rhythm and gaiety, “White Horse Ina” has never been surpassed. Tn addition to having a number of charming and lilting melodics, this musical p'ay creates a (l>l ; cious atmosphere in a picturesque Tyrolean setting. Great cart was exercised in the engaging of the artists for the Australian and New Zealand productions of ‘‘White Horse Inn,” with the natural result that it is brilliantly and perfectly sung, acted and danced. Performances of ‘‘Whit© Horse Inn” will bp given to-morrow and Saturday nights and a matinee will be staged on Saturday afternoon.
