GRAVE ANXIETY FELf. r.OUDOX. Jan. 14. Mr. Kipling’s operation was for a perforated stomach i.Tcer, a condition which is liable to sudden relapse. Grave anxiety was felt late tonight. Nfr«». Kipling and her daughter, Mrs. Bainbridge. saw the patient for a few moments in the morning and revisited the hospital in the evening, but Mr. Kipling, who had been dozing fitfully, was too exhausted to speak. The callers included Mr. Baldwin, who is Mr. Kipling’s cousin.
