WOOL PUBLICITY

URGENT NEED FOR CAMPAIGN BRADFORD PRINCIPAL’S OPINION IMPOSITION OF LEVY SUGGESTED [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright] Received Jan. .14, 11.45 p.m. MELBOURNE, Jan. 14. Lord Barnby states that he is more than ever convinced that unless an Empire-wide wool publicity campaign is undertaken Australia will suffer ccriously. He suggested that the imposition of a levy on every bale exported by the Dominion Governments would be the only effective action. A committee should be appointed to control the funds thus created. It should be independent of Government appointment and not be subject to political interference. Lord Barnby is a partner in the Bradford firm of Francis Willey and Coy. It buys extensive quantities of New Zealand wool and will be represented at to-morrow’s Wanganui sale.
