FORDELL SALE GOOD CLEARANCE EFFECTED The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as folliows on the Fordell sale:— About 2700 sheep and 60 cattle were yarded at Fordell yesterday for the first sale of the season. In spite of the unfavourable weather conditions, there was a good attendance. Practically a total clearance was effected with prices in favour of the sellers. Compared with the corresponding sale for last season, best lambs were ahonit 2e p«n head higher, and small, inferior lambs 3s t-o Rs 6d up. Almost the whole ov the yarding was comprised of lambs. A couple of pens of good 2-too-th wethers sold from 19s to 21s. The following values were realised: — Good w.f. wether lambs, shorn, 16s, 15s 7d; medium white face ahorn wether lambs, 13s sd, 13s 11 d, 14s 6d; cull w.f. wether lambs, 9s 4d. 10s Bd. 8s 9d, 7s lOd; fat and forward shorn black face lambs, 17s 6d; medium b.f. lambs, 14s 4d, 14s 7d, 13s Gd; medium ewe lambs, 16s 2d, 16s 7d; cull ewe lambs, Ils lid, 12s; 6-year ewes, 16s lOd; f. and f. wethers, 20s 6d; fat wethers, 21s Gd; 2-too-th wethers, 19s to 21s; IS-months to 2-year Hereford heifers, £3 16s; 18-momths to 2-year P.A. heifers. £4.
