The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated January 11, from the High Commis sioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow: Market continues quiet; values nominally unchanged. Hemp: Manila —Market quiet but steady with fair trade demand. Value “K” grade for January-March shipment. £23 10s. Sisal: Market quiet but steadier at the close. January-March shipment value £2B ss; February-April shipment sold at £2B ss. New Zealand: Small busines done. Common grade, £lB 10s. Nominal value on the basis of highpoints is £2l 10s. Apples: Market slow. Californian Newtown, Ils to 12s; Oregon Newtown, 12s to 13s 6d; British Columbian Jonathan, 6s to 10s. Pears: Market steady. Californian Winter Nelis, 9s 6d to 14s; Oregon Benrre Bose, Ils to 12s 6d; Cornice, 16s to l£s.
