MARKET RISING Received Jan. 13, 11.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 13. At the wool sales 12,609 bales were offered and 12,251 sold; also 1328 privately. The market was par to five per cent, higher compared with last week’s closing rates. Competition was keen from the Japanese, Yorkshire and Continental sections, with good support from local users. Greasy Merino made to 31d. Last week’s average price was £lB 5s per bale and 15.1 d per lb. COMPETITION AT PERTH BRADFORD AND JAPAN ACTIVE Received Jan. 13, 11.10 p.m. PERTH, Jan. 13. At the wool sales competition was exceptionally keen, Bradford and Japan forcing the prices up. An advance of fully five per cent, over all was recorded to-day.
