ROWING AFFAIRS
NEW PLYMOUTH REGATTA WANGANUI SUCCESSES. Wanganui crews secured several sue cesses at the New Plymouth regatta yesterday. There was an attendance estimated at 9000. The full ptugranimt of rowing events was not completed as a rough sea sprang up suddenly and in; fewer than four boats were swamped in the junior fours race. All the oarsmen were promptly rescued from lhei plight, but the Union boat suffered damage, the hull being punctur 'd. Results of the events were as follow; Youths’ Fours. —Union and New Plymouth, dcad-licat L Single Sculls.—Wanganui J ; 'w Plymouth 2. Maiden Fours. —New Plymouth ] Aramoho 2, Wanganui 3. Lightweight Fours. — Wanganui 1 Union 2, New Plymouth No. .1 McLeod Cup.—Wanganui 1, Union New Plymouth No. 1 3. •Collett Cup.—Aramoho 1, Union N®. 1 2, New Plymouth 3. The junior fours and the Harris Cup were not rowed.
