FIRST DAY’S RESULTS. [ Per Press Asi-ociation. j GREYMOUTH, Jan. 1. The first, day of the Greyniouth Jockey Club’s summer meeting was held in fine hot weather. The track was in ex'-elJent order. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £7087 compared with £3948 on the corresponding day last year, an increase of £3139. Results:— Novice Stakes.—l Rotokino (Murfitt), 1, 3 Baffle (Leckie) 2,2 Robant Jcncs) 3. Also: 4 Gas Mask, 7 Krakaloa, 5 Polistina, 6 Potent, 7 Metric. Thice lengths; neck Gas Mask was fourth. County Hack.—s Zetes (Lcckie) 1, 4 Tree Rose (Russell) 2,2 Landraid (Murfitt) 3. Also: 3 Bella Rosa, I Shy Rover, 6 Appeal. 7 Nautipoi, <8 Ln.oleum. Three lengths; length. Time, 1.42 2-5. Grcymouth Cup. —4 Jolly Beggar (Hibberd) 1 5 AlcHeaih (Russell) 2, 6 Lockslev (J Murfitt) 3. Also: 1 Sea Fox, 2 Ro »a Bay, 3 Giggleswick, 7 Wee Musk. Four lengths; two lengths. Time, 2.8 The early leaders were Rona Bay, Locksley and Wee Musk. Then Sea lox took up the running, Jolly Beggar being tailed off. Entering rhe ba'.K Sea Fox met with bad interference, dropping back just as Jolly Beggar made a forward move. Over the last three furlongs Jolly Beggar ran over everything, taking the lead two furlongs from the post and winrung easily from McHeath, who finished fast lo beat Locksley and Rona Bay.
