BETTER SOUND REPRODUCTION UP-TO-DATE MACHINE FITTED The Plaza Theatre, Wanganui, keen to be in the forefront in adopting the latest methods of sound reproduction, has installed a Raycophone extended frequency mechanism, its purpose being to cover the widest possible range of frequency and thus bring within the scope of the screen even the most delicate sounds. Mr. C. Youngson, of Sydney', was in charge of the work of installation, which was begun at 10.30 on Saturday night and was concluded in time for the showing of last night’s programme, the mechanical staff working continuously over the week-end. The R-aycophone was invented by an Australian, Mr. Ray Allsop, and wherever it has been tried it has proved eminently successful. Mr. Youngson has been commissioned to instal four in New Zealand—at Wanganui, Timaru, Nelson and Invercargill. There are over 260 installations in Australia.
