Maori, Martin Moni, aged 50, married. with seven or eight children, was killed near Matawai this morning when a car in which he was a passenger became out of control, struck a stump, and capsized. His son, Toki Moni, received a fractured skull. The deceased was a member of a party of five Opotiki Maoris motoring to Gisborne. When near Matawai the accelerator jammed, and the driver, Jacob Ngalai. was unable 10 control the ear.
