GOLF NOTES The annual meeting of the Taihape Golf Club was heid on Thursday evening when the president (Dr. D. L. Sinclair) presided over an attendance consisting of Alcssrs. E. J. Price, W. T. Alay, Alortland (2), Neagle, Auld, Pirritt, Kincaid, James, Alaxwell, Collcrtou, A. F. McKenzie, Jobliu, W. R. Bennett, Airs. Hay # Miss Collerton and the secretary (Air. A. P. Seccombe). The annual report and balance-sheet wt-ie read and adopted. Election of officers. —The election cf olhceis for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron, Air.. F. Hintz, president, Air. T. P. Auld; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. A. C. Joblin and 1\ Reece; club captain, Air. E. J. Price; lion, secretary and treasurer, Air. W. Pirritt; hon. auditor, Air. F. Dew 7 - hurst; executive committee, Messrs. R. AlcLennan, J. T. Coults, W. T. Alay, A. F. AlcKenzie and Dr. Sinclair. Votes of thanks were accorded the outgoing officers, the hon. auditor (Air. Dewhirst;; the Ladies’ Golf Club, Air. H. J. Alurrell and the Press. Air. A cricket match between Taihape and South Rangitikei will be played at Alarton to-day. The Taihape team will travel to Jhe southern centre by car. T. C. Lowry will be captain. WRESTLING WOODS AND CATALINO DRAW IN EAST BOUT There was a good, attendance at the Taihape Town Hall on Thursday, when the Rangitikei Wrestling Association staged a bout between Tony Catalino and Johnny Woods. The contest went the full eight rounds, and resulted Jn a draw, each wrestler securing a fall. In parts the bc-ut was very colourful, both men showing that they had a good knowledge of modern wrestling. The Spaniard secured his fall in the fourth session with a body press after he had tossed Woods with a reverse headlock. The score was evened in the next round when the referee awarded the Californian a penally fall when the Bacelonian persisted in .a -hold which seriously interfered with Woods’ breathing. The main bout was preceded by five amateur contests, the most willing of which was for the championship of Pukeokahu, between Boy Tahu and Jack Cooper. Eac-ih man gained a fall, and the title has not yet been won. The bout between Neill Pc-well and Ossie Partridge provided bright enter-, tainment, the decision going to Powell on points. Powell assumed the aggressive practically throughout and deserved his win. • The Mam Event.

Coming back he kicked Woods over, but Woods downed him with a headlock from which the Barcelonian got awav and held Woods in a head scissors” Woods wriggled his head free and grabbed Catalino with a toehold. The Spaniard got free and had Woods in the right jmsition for a crab, but Woods kicked free, and held Catalino with a headlock until the round terminated. Catalino opened the fourth stanza by tossing Woods with a headlock, but he in turn was tossed by the same.
