SMALL SEEDS

• A GOOD METHOD OF SOWING Certain seed being costly, gardeneis are naturally anxious to obtain one plant to one seed. The following method is a good one when such is the case. Empty the packet of seed on to a sheet of white paper, wet a sharppointed stick or lead pencil, and you will then be able to pick up one seed at a time from the paper and transfer the same to the seed box or pot. By this means space of an inch or so can be left between each seed and sowing too thickly, with the attendant evil of thinning out, can be avoided. By this means the seedlings can be allowed to grow into sturdy plants before being handled.
