THE FDOWEB GARDEN. Keep blooms closely picked on Sweet Peas. Prepare the ground for Asters and Zinnias. Stake Delphiniums and other tall herbaceous plants. Plantings of Asters, Zinnias and Salvias can be made. Dahlias and Chrysanthemums can be planted. Polyanthus and Primroses can be lifted divided. Remove seed pods from Azaleas and Rhododendrons. • Spray Roses for aphis and mildew. Plantings of most summer bedding plants can be done now. The trenches should be prepared at once. Make frequent sowings of Spinach. .Rich, quick soil is necessary. Prepare ground and plant Kumaras. “Lay” the roots in lengthwise of the row. Planting of Brussels Sprouts and Broccoli can be made. THE FRUIT GARDEN. Spray Apples and Pears with arsenate of lead to control codlin moth. Remove unwanted shoots on newly grafted trees. Keep ground clean around the trees. This is quite as important as spraying. Spray Peaches and other stone fruits with lime-sulphur to control brown rot.
