Captain Antonio Cacoyannis), with sulphur from Port Muroran (Japan), via Auckland and Lyttelton arrived yesterday morning and was berthed at the Castlecliff Wharf. Messrs. Kempthorne. Prosser and Co., to whom the Nemea's cargo is consigned, are the vessel’s agents. TYie vessel will sail about Tuesday for Whyalla. Spencer Gulf (Australia), where she will load ore for Japan. ABEL TASMAN SUNDAY The Intercolonial freighter Abel (2040 tonn. Captain Archibald), is now expec’ed at the Town Wharf on Sunday from Sydney, via Auckland. Lyttelton and Wellington. She will load timber and is to sail on Tuesday fnr Melbourne and Sydney, via Grey•uouth. (Holm and Co.). GABRIELLA FROM SYDNEY The Union Company's intercolonial freighter Gabriella (1587 torws. Captain Denniston) was to ha\e left Sydney yesterday for Wanganui, Napier. Gisborne and Greymouth. Napier and Wanganui. The vessel is due Dunedin Lyttelton, Wellington, Auckland, here about the end of January and will receive cargo for New York, Boston and Montreal, transhipment at New York for United Kingdom and the Continent. Thera is a possibility that the Cornwallis will berth at Castlecliff. (Millward and Co.). FROM THE SHIP’S LOG WANGANELLA AT SYDNEY The Wanganella arrived at Sydney from Wellington at two o’clock on Sunday afternoon. After calling at Melbourne, she will leave Sydney to-morrow for Auckland, where she is due the following Wednesday, sailing again for Sydney and Melbourne on Friday, December 6. (Millward and Co.). TAMAROA RADIOS The Tamaroa, en route from London for Wellington and Auckland, reports by radio that she expects to arrive at Wellington on the morning of December 5. She is to leave for Auckland on December 9. TONGARIRO HOME The Tongariro. which left Auckland on October 16 for the United Kingdom, arrived at London on Monday. MELBOURNE PILOT STAFF UNION COMPANY SKIPPER APPOINTED Captain Ernest Anton Stein, master of the Un.on Company’.-* steamer Kini, has secured the much-coveted appointment as a Melbourne ;-ilot. A’ a special meeting of the Marine J3-«ard at Melbourne week. Captain Stein was chosen from seven applicants to fill a vacancy in the Port Philip pilots’ service at a salary of £1125 a year, Capu Stein was born in 1891, and shipped aboard the timber barque James Craig at the age of 14 years as a cabin boy.
