Seas (New Zealand waters): Smooth to moderate but rising on the west coast of the South Island and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: North-westerly to westerly winds, moderate in the northern portion with moderate seas. -Strong in southern portions with rough seas. Weather: For the most part fair to fine, but clouding over soon in western and far southern parts of the South Island and showers developing in those areas. Temperatures mild to warm.
