FIRST SINCE 1928 NATIONAL CONTINUANCE CARRIED BIG MAJORITY VOTE For the first time since 1928 a poll was taken in New Zealand yesterday on the question of whether the IDoniinion should be “wet” or * < drv. ,, ’ By an overwhelming majority the electors decided on National Continuance. | Returns to hard at midnight revealed ! the state of the Dominion poll as follows: Continuance, 219,684; Prohibition, 109,340; .State Purchase and Control. 24,208. In the Wanganui electorate the voting was 5888 in favour of Continuance, 2492 for Prohibition and 833 for State Purchase and Control. There were 122 informal votes.
