BOY SCOUTS CELEBRATE The. Sanson Boy Scouts held their bvcond birthday party un Friday evening iu the Saudon Town flail. 'J he causon company ot. Girl Guides were present, as were also members of both committees and brothers and sisters of the scouts and guides. The evening was spent in games and competitions, a treasure hunt caused a good deal of excitement and fun. The hidden treasure was found by Guide Margaret Coulter, who also won tbe prize for the competition —road signs. Mrs. 11. V. Bond (wife of the Scout Troop secretary) very kindly made and donated a beautifully iced birthday cake which was cut by Mrs. It. E. Fordyce (wife of the Scoutmaster;. Scout Jack Lawrence and Guide If. Pearce lit the candles on the cake, which were later extinguished by Scout J. Coulter and Guide U. hlyger. The leader of the Girl Guide Movement, Lieut. Joyce Kilpatrick, was in command of the Guides. in the absence of Mrs. A. L. K. Drew. Mrs. W. E. Bearce took charge of the supper arrangements and was assisted by Mesdames R. E. Fordyce, H. V. Bond, I. Coulter, and F. TT. Tostevin. Mr. A. K. Drew (president of the scout movement) thanked Scoutmaster Fordyce for devoting his time and energies to the troop. Later the president presented second year stars to several lads, and second-class proficiency badges to Patrol Leader G. Bond, Patrol Leader J. Coulter and Scout-second, R. Pearce. Air. H. V. Bond (Scout secretary) also spoke a few words to the troop, and thanked the ladies for providing supper. Air. F. W. Tostevin acted as accompanist for a much enjoyed community sing. Absent Scouts and Guides sent a piece of the birth- ’ day cake.
