Scott will leave on Friday on a holiday visit to Sydney. Mrs. Morgan Duncan, Liverpool Street Extension, is visiting Wellington. b Lady Myers, of London, left by the Rangitane on November 14 to visit New Zealand. Mrs. J. M. Hussey is a Wanganui visitor to Auckland. Mrs. Eric Well wood, who has been spending some weeks in Wanganui, has returned to her home in the Wairarapa. Miss Betty Webster, of the China Inland Mission, returned recently to New Zealand on. furlough for over a year. Hhe has been in China 40 years. Mrs. W. 11. B, Nicholson, Liffiton Street, who returned recently from a four months’ sojourn in Nelson, has left for Wellington and sails on Friday on an extended holiday in Sydney. Mrs. George Shirtcliffe, Wellington, will return from, an overseas trip by the Tamaroa, due at Wellington on December 4. Misses E. McCarthy and Eva Wilson, who were Air. and Airs. Spence Lyons’ guests in AVanganui, have returned to Wellington. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY ENJOYABLE DANCE Ou Monday, November 18, at the A ictoria Hall, a very jolly evening party was held to celebrate tne coming-oi’-age of Mr Jack. Spooner, when friends numbering about 200 were present. The tables were decorated in a colour scheme of lavender and lemon with irises and Iceland poppies. The toasts to ‘‘The King ,f and the guest of honour were proposed by Air Spriggens. Mr Moye proposed the toast oi the parents and Air Joseliu the toast of Air Spooner (grandfather). i\ie birthday cake was made and presented by Mr Jack Spooner’s aunt, Miss Aloffat, of Lumsden. The evening was spent in dancing to music played by the New Gaiety Dance Band, and Afiss O’Afahony a tap dance. Air and Miss O’Mahoney a tap dance. Air J. Aluzio made an efficient AI.C.
