GONVILLE CLUB TEN NIXON CUP RINKS J UNI OK BANNERETTE The Gonville Bowling Club suffered uei’eat in the Nixon Cup games on •Saturday, Wanganui winning both at Gonville and at home. This week Gonville will play St. John's, but owing to some members being unable to play, ten rinks will be entered. The first game for the Junior Bannerette was played in boisterous weather on, Monday evening. St. John's were the challengers, and they proved thv winners, giving the home team a really sound beating. However, Gonville hope to challenge again shortly and may turn the tables. Owing to the inclement weather it is quite on the cards that the selection committee will extend the time foi completion of two rounds of pairs and singles. Taylor and W Healey withstood a challenge fur the Ferns on Saturday last. Sharpe and Chenery were the challengers ana after a good game were defeated by 21 to 16. With only a month to Christmas those desirous of playing in the Centre tournament are requested to place their names on the board if not already in teams.
