REGENT THEATRE
“MEN WITHOUT NAMES.” One of the most exciting films screened in Wanganui fur some time is “ Men Without Names” shows finally this afternoon at the Regent Theatre, a powerful and exciting drama dealing with the perils that beset members of the American secret service in their ceaseless warfare against the criminal organisations of that vast country. Fred Mac Murray is cast as Richard Grant, the young agent, and rhe leading feminine player is Madge Evans, as Helen, a newspaper woman staying at the same lodgings as Grant. No picture programme will be screened this evening at the Regent Theatre. “I've Been Around.” One of the catchiest song hits of the season is heard in Universal’s film. ‘‘l’ve Been Around,” coming tomorrow to the Regent Theatre, in which Chester Morris' is starred, with Rochelle Hudson as his leading lady. The song is also called “I’ve Been Around,' and was written for the picture by Jack Meskill and Jack Stern. Miss Hudson sings this number. On the same programme is “Upper World,” a Warner Bros, picture with Warren William as a philandering millionaire and Mary Astor as his cold wife, while Ginger Rogers is a worldly wise chorus girl. Others in the cast who give excellent accounts of themselves are Henry O’Neill. J. Carroll Xaish. Sidney Toler, Theodore Newton, Robert Barrat, Ferdinand Gottschalk, Robert Greig, Frank Sheridan, John Qualen and Willard Robertson.
