OPENING NIGHT TO-MORROW A PBETTY MUSICAL PLAY. That appealing musical play, “The Geisha,’’ with ail the charm of the East about it, will be staged at the Wanganui Opera House to-morrow night, to commence a four-night season. Following are the principals the society has chosen to tell the story of “0 Mimosa San,” and her Geishas, of the bold, bad Marquis, the gallant English navJl officers, and the slant-eyed Chinaman, “Wun Hi”:— Alexia Rankin, Gladys Lovegrove, 'Merle .jpurdie. F. O. Bridgeman, Jim Pawson, W. Hastings, Jim Broad, J. Linaker, Norma Holmes, Thelma Bergen, Jean Harman, R. Nelson, F. Killeen, E. K. Cameron, Noel Lewis, Nancy Hales, D. Drew, H. Bassett- | Smith, E. Bassett-Smith, K. Takarangi, and a mighty chorus and gorgeous ballets. “The Geisha” is one of the prettiest and most lovable musical plays to come to the stage. Its music has a glorious charm about it and the wit, humour and telling dialogue will delight Wanganui audiences. Mr. Bob Howell, with his brush and known ability as an artist, has excelled himself in the creation of the stage settings and scenery. His scenes are realistic depictions of the East. Plans for “The Geisha” are open’ at the D.LC. On the opening night the audience will be kept posted as to ' the results of the elections and children, with escorts, will be admitted to any part of the house for sixpence.
