MR. HOGAN’S CAMPAIGN
MEETING AT GONVILLE POLICY OF THE LIBERALS Last night Mr. Hogan was greeted with a good attendance of electors at the Gouville Town Hall. Mr. W. Corby was elected lo the chair. The candidate dealt with his policy for the people for the advancement of Wanganui. lie went fully into the questions of universal superannuation and solid financial support, for the existing schemes, land sett lenient and boys’ farm hostels, afforestation, railway line construction, fostering trade with the Old Country (our best customer), elimination of unfair railway competition with Wanganui’s port and the advancement of Wanganui. His list of public expenditure while he was member for Wanganui, he said, tanged from lhe purchase of rhe site for the Post Office to the Dublin Street Bridge, from the Aramobo Post Office to the Gonville recreation ground, from the large wharf sheds to the Technical College, and from £7OOO for a new Courtnouse to assisting to save the racecourse from being turned into a Mr. Hogan was given an at tent Eve hearing dining the course of a twohour address and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A vote of thanks was also extended to the chairman.
