CLERICS HEAVILY FINED TWO SENT TO GAOI. BERLIN, Nov. 23. Dr. Peter Legge, Bishop of Aleissen, ■was fined £BOOO for violating the currency law by smuggling out money from Germany, £3200 of the fine being remitted, as he waited for a month for trial. If the reminder is not paid he will be imprisoned for three months. 'The Bishop’s brother Theodore was sentenced to five years’ penal servitude and fined £5600 for complicity. Dr. Soppa, the Bishop’s vicar-general, was sentenced to three years’ gaol and fined £5600.
