ELECTION RESULTS

Arrangements have been made by the “Wanganui Chronicle’’ and Wanganui Herald to broadcast progress reports of the election from the Drill Hall in Maria Place on Wednesday (to-morrow) night. Results will be forwarded to a special telephone located in the building as they come to hand from both the local and outside booths, and will be immediately given to the people through the medium of a loud-speaker. A staff will be on duty checking the totals and progress reports will be given as to the state of the parties and as to the progress of the liquor poll. In addition, by co-operation with the Press Association and the Broadcasting Board, it will be possible to make available to the public of Wanganui the national broadcast from Wellington, which will keep up a running description of the election on a Dominion-wide basis, covering the poll in the various electorates and progress results as they arc registered in Wellington, the headquarters for the Dominion. This broadcast will be connected up with the ChronicleHerald loud-speaker and conveyed to the people assembled at the Drill Hall. Election results will be screened at intervals during the programmes being screened at the picture theatres in Wanganui, and will be announced at the Opera House where the Wanganui Amateur Dramatic Society will be sho win g.
