ON WANGANUI TRACKS

PREPARING FOR FEILDING SATURDAY’S GALLOPS In addition to Alcides (a winner at Levin on Saturday) Collodion aud Abracadabra, several other Wanganui horses arc engaged at the Feilding meeting next Saturday. Some of these were sent along on t Saturday morning on tihe number c-ne grass track under fine weather conditions. Rust, who is to contest the Feilding Cup, was accompanied by Entail over six furlongs, which they covered in Infi*. 17 l-ssec. At the finish they were doing it well without being unduly extended. Entail is to be raced at Woodville and will be taken through to Ellerslie for his Great Northern Derby engagement. Rust is also likely to be one of Rayner’s team for the Auckland summer meeting. Rayner’s pair of two-year-olds, Mequette and Imposture, were sent half-a-mile, and though they were not ridden out they covered the distance in 50 2-ssec. Imposture is to contest the Juvenile Stakes at Feilding on Saturday but she is not engaged the second day. Moquette will net race till* she goes to Ellerslie for the Great Northern Foal Stakes. Spiral was just a bit too good for The Image' over five furlongs, which they left behind in Imin. 3sec., but both could have improved on that time. Spiral is to fill his engagements in the Flying Handicap at Feilding on Saturday. The Image is in the Fitzroy Hack Handicap the same day. “ MARTINDALE ” PASSES VETERAN SPORTING WRITER Received Nov. 25, 9.20 p.in. BRISBANE, Nov. ‘25.
