AT NEW PLYMOUTH HORSES FOR FEILDING SILK SOX PLEASES The tracks at New Plymouth were in excellent order for training operations at New Plymouth on Saturday morning, when most of the candidates with engagements at Feilding were galloped. ON HAWERA TRACKS FEILDING CANDIDATES ' AGA KHAN AND INGENUITY Several Hawera trained horses will | be seen in action at Feilding next Saturday and Monday on the occasion of the club’s annual spring meeting, and interesting work was performed on the Hawera tracks on Saturday, writes “Limited” in the Taranaki Daily News. The outside of the course was used for galloping, providing capital going. Notium (Cole) had Carfex (Hawke for a companion over four furlongs. \ ery alert, Notium jumped off quickly and led Carfex by a good length over the first quarter of a mile, but Carfex • aught him in the run up the straight and finished a head in front in 52sec.. a satisfactory effort. They ran the first half of the journey in 39 2-ssec. and took a second longer over the final three furlongs to register Imin. 19 4-5 sec. for the six furlongs, with Aga Khan going well a neck in front. Bantry, ridden by Cole, was given a working gallop the Auckland way round in view of his engagements at Ellerslie on Saturday and Monday. Supreme Court was allotted half pace exercise on the plough, working in his usual free style. Conceding Master Limond (Sheild) a second and a-half start, Waiongona (Monkley) had no difficulty in beating him home, running half a mile in 53 2 5 sec. The two-year olds Gaiteemore (Toki), International (Howe) and Sea Adler (Cole) finished with half lengths between tnem in the order named in a sprint over three furlongs in 40 j sec. Sea Adler showed improvement and Gaiteemore finished very attractively. i In O. Cox’s absence Lowen berg, Fer>en and Friesland were allotted light . tasks. Celeste made up ground across the top and, finishing the better, was half a length in front at the end of the six furlongs in Imin. 23 2-ssec. Soloist, Glenthawn and Princess Gowrie did easy pace work. March Alone worked solidly on the plough over two rounds. The three-year-old filly Biorni (Monkley), by Standstar, went surprisingly well in her first sprint, shading Clembroney (Grindlay) at the finish of two furlongs in 25 2-ssec.
