“STORMY WEATHER.” Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn are in their happiest vein in “Stormy Weather,” at the Plaza Theatre, and their fellow-conspirator, Robertson Hare, is also at his best, but hardly at his happiest. He reveals himself in the novel role of a sleuth-hound, whose courage, however, deserts him at the critical moment. Yvonne Arnaud plays the part of the wife of Sir Duncan Graggs (Tom Walls). Marabou’s Melbourne Cup race is on the supports. There will be no picture programme to-night. “The First World War.” Secret pictures, taken on the battlefields of the Great War, and only released now after 20 years have elapsed, have been contributed by the great nations of the world to make the impressive film coming to-morrow to the Plaza Theatre and entitled “The First World War.” This is stated to be the sole recorded film of the Great War, and it is a very remarkable achievement, wholly unforgetabie. Among the pageants which move across the screen are realistic reproductions of the naval battle of Jutland, the attack on Gallipoli, the Battle of the Somme, and naval operations off the,, Dardanelles. Giant warships, aeroplanes and armies pass in endless review, spitting out death and destruction, and U boats are seen rising from the depths of the ocean to hurl warships and innocent passenger steamers to their doom.
