Mr. TT. Myer', general manager of tn* 1D,!?.’., Ltd.. Dunedin, was a vi-i tor to Wanganui yesterday. After a comparatively short illness trie death occurred at an early hour vn 'luesday morning in the Masterton Hospital of Mr. Edward Jones at the advanced age of 81 years. The late Mr. Edward Jones had resided in Masterton all his life and was one of its oldest identities, his father. Mr. Henry Jones, being one of the early pioneers • r Masterton and one of its leading Methodists. Mrs. M. s. Jones predeceased Mr. Jones a few years ago. The family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jones comprise two married sons resident in Masterton, and three daughters. two of which are married. Mrs. U. Andricksen residing at Levin, Mrs. \V. ,T. Rogers. Mayoress of Wanganui, and Miss E. Jones, of Masterton. The late Mr. Jones wa> a frequent visitor to Wanganui. The funeral will take place at Masterton to-day. Mr. Rogers will leave for Alastcrton this morning and will be absent from the <-itv for a .our two days.
