He is in good fettle to continue his Waikato Cup engagement The Tiger (Ji- Dulieu) schooled over three hurdles, giving a satisfactory display. Mustang, Chii#f Marionette, Might, Grateful, Red Sand, the Tea Tiay two-year-old, and Wahine Nui, latest addition to Dulieu \s team, did steady pacework. Hinkey Pinkey and Script worked over five furlongs at an even tliicequarter pace. Beau Star exercised un the inner After Breakfast After breakfast Refresher (Davurcu) and Lady Kyra (Robertson) jumped oil from the six-furlong peg and immediately settled into their stride to ■chop uut the first two furlongs in 21 4-Jsec, and the first half-mile in 49 3-ssec. The torrid early pace tuld in the run home and they stopped very suddenly, Lady Kyra landing home half a length in front of Refresher in I.IS 3 5 for the full distance. Chikara (Robertson) and Glenvane i (Pell) ran an easy live furlongs in 1.13. Headmistress and Tahurangi worked on the inner grass. Headmistress is not going to the Waikato meeting. Red Fox (.Davoren) was shaded by Bonny Glow (Robertson) over the last fifty yards of their six ru. longs gallop which took 1.20 4-ssec., the last live furlongs in 1.8, and the last half mile in 55 l-ssec. Davistock (Pell) and Aussie Ra (Robertson), who both look well after their recent racing, came home strongly from the three furiongs in 4Cseu. at the completion of their work-out over a mile. Although Tancred, Jamieson, and Bartle have been disqualified for 12 months Country Party has been disqualified only for the Batman Stake.-, uot for a year as first reported. The stewards stated that bets on Ihe Batman Stakes were not affected by their decision. Ihe newspapers comment on the unusual course adopted in disqualifying the gelding only for the race and not for a period, but explain that tnis is quite legitimate under the Ausliuj:an Rules of Racing.
