Air. and Airs. 11. H. Cork, Fromont Street, left last evening on a twelve month’s holiday to be spent in various parts of New Zealand, including Auckland and Nelson. Prior to her departure Airs. Cork was entertained at several farewell parties, the hostesses including Airs. R. E. T. Hewat, who gave a very large party last Saturday, Airs. J. Higgie, Wickstoed Street, and Airs. J. R. Franklin, St. John’s Hill.

Next Monday representatives from the Townswomen’s Guilds at Napier, Hastings, Danncvirke, Wanganui and Nelson ’ will be visiting Palmerston North when, together with representatives from the local guild, matters of internal organisation and the extension oi the movement in the Dominion will be discussed. While they are in Palmerston North the visitors will ber the guests of the local guild members at the annual birthday gathering of the Guild. Airs. J. C. Wickham and Airs. T. B. Amies are the Wanganui delegates.

Airs. W. J. Taylor, wife of the New Zealand Trade Commissic-ner in Australia, who is the new patroness of the New Zealand Women’s Association in Sydney, wag entertained at afternoon tea recently by members of the association at their clubrooms. Mrs. J. W. A. Prentice, president, welcomed Airs. Taylor, and also Lady Fuller and Airs. L. J. Schmitt, who are both patron-

On August 10 the wedding took place in London of Rolf E. L. Aubin, only son of Dr. E. D. Aubin and the late Mrs. Aubin, of Auckland, and Doreen, eldest daughter of Air. and Airs. F. Granville Sharp, of Gisborne, states a London correspondent. The bride was escorted by Air. Stanley Rankin, of New Zealand. A reception was afterwards held at “Al eri vale, ” St. Helen’s, Hastings, where Miss Sharp (aunt of the bride) received the guests. The honeymoon is being spent in Germany and the Austrian Tyrol.
