Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, September 27. 4 p.m. General Situation.—An intense anti-cyclone covers New Zealanu and extends far to the eastwards. Pressure is relatively low to the north, and there is some evidence of the development of a depression on the western Tasman. Forecast—Winds: Moderate to fresh easterly north of Kawlna and Last Cape, elsewhere light to moderate and variable, but still mainly from some easterly quarter. Seas (New Zealand walers): Rather rough to rough north of East Cape .and offshore north of Kawhia, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh cast to north-east winds and moderate seas. M iather: 'Still fair in most districts, but cloudy at times in the far north and along the. east coast, with misty rain or fog at a few isolated plapes.
