In some cases ihe loss amounts to 50 per cent. The position was attribute*! to the dry last season and lack of nourishment in a lot of turnip crops. The meeting resolved that step- be taken to obtain an immediate rebate on railway freight on pressed hay from Canterbury to feed dairy stock and that the matter be taken direct Io the Prime Minister and the Southland member of Parliament.
