WEDDING
HINTZ—McCARTIN. Iceland poppies and gold spring flowers were effective decorations in St. Mary’s Church, Taihape, a short time ago when Miss Kitty McCartin, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. McCartin. of Omatanc, faced the altar with Mr. Henry Hintz, only son of Mr. and Mrs. F?G. Hintz, of St. Helier’s, Auckland. A lovely frock of Egyptian gold ripple satin cut on simple-fitting lines, was chosen by the bride, and her Brussels lace veil matched the colour ot her frock and formed a graceful train. She carried a sheaf of gold-tinted lilies. Her train was carrie 1 by little Clare Ongley, looking very sweet in a blue full-length frilled orghndie frock, and Master Pat Nicholls in lemon velvet suit. The bride was accompanied by Miss Nell McCartin and Miss Pat Hintz, dressed in blue and lemon. Their trained frocks were cut on the same design as the bride’s. The bridegroom-was attended by Mr. J. Quinn, of Wellington, and Mr. E. Lowry, Taihape. Mr. G. McCartin, of Otane, gave his sister away. Airs. V. Nicholls, sister of the bride, received the guests at the Gretna Hotel, and she was assisted by the groom’s mother, Airs. F. J. Hintz. Rev. Father Doolaglity, assisted by Rev. Father Phillips, officiated at the wedding ceremony. Air. Luxford beautifully rendered “Ave Maria.” The newly-weds left for the North, the bride wearing a French model crepe dress with a shoulder cape trimmed with squirrel fur, and hat and shoes to tone. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Arthur Albert (Bob) Signal, youngest son of Mrs. T. Sanson, of Sanson, and the late Mr. T. Signal, of Rata, and Hazel Doreen Bowater, youngest daughter of Airs. P. Bowater and the late Mr. P. Bowater, of Sanson.
