Results arc as follows: — A Section Largely through the individual bril Fiance oi M. McKenzie, Canterbury de Lcat-ed Marlborough by 3 goals to L Solo runs by Miss McKenzie brought ber two goals in the first five minutes, but from then on the game was very even, with snappy passing by boln teams, tnc-ugh L'anterbuiy s defence was more sound. Miss McKenziv added a third gu-al after good passing with Miss Gudsell. Inaccurate shooting lost Marlborough several good chances but Miss E. Woolier eventually goaled near the end of the game. Eastern doutmland continued tbuir unbroken record by defeating Southland by -J goals to nil, and the winners still have had no goals scored against them. They excelled in positional play and their stick work was clean and finished. The two full-backs, Hoffman and McDonald, were very sound en defence. {Southland put up a good exhibition but were outclassed in every department. The .scorers wero Reid (2), Nicol and Bend. Poverty Bay A beat Bush by 2 goals to 1, due mainly to the superior com bination and tike more accurate hitting of the winners, as against individualism by Bush, whose weakness in positional play sometimes Jc«t them good opportunities. Nevertheless Bush played very vigorously and the game was exciting throughout. Wells and Burn scored for Poverty Bay and Ryan for Bush.

B Section Ashburton held Ruahine to a draw, one goal each. The game was played on a very muddy ground, which made spectacular hockey impossible as the ball could not travel far in the heavy ground. There was little to choose between the teams on the day r , though Ashburton had the better of the game in the concluding stages. Both teams had fast runners among the backs but the ground was too heavy and only occasional glimpses could be seen of their speed qualifications. Montieth scored for Ruahine within four minutes of the opening. Ashburton’s score did not come till well in the second half, when Donaldson netted. South Otago beat Wellington by 2 goals to nil. The game they played was on a heavy, muddy ground. Wellington’s backs were superior to tiheir forward line and at times combination was lacking. South Otago had good combination and with a good under standing between backs and forwards every advantage was taken of any possible opening, the Southerners being much the better team on thp day’s play. Both goals were scored by At. Scott. Akitio had much the better of the game with Wairarapa, winning by 3 grails to 1. Akitio had the better combination, whereas Wairarapa were frequently caught cut of position. O. Heoman (2) and Reid scored for Akitio and Dauber for Wairarapa.
