At the end of the seventeenth round of the International Chess Championship the United States is leading with ; 46 points, followed by Poland 45, ano ; Sweden 44 A. The British Empire occupies tenth place. In the women’s championship Vera Menchik is leading with eight points, Hanim 5, Gerleck and Olga Menchik 4. Holloway 31, Thierry 3. Herman 2\ Skloensberg 2, Kokalska 1. and Shannon 4.
