THE SPRING SHOW

Sir.—l ii view of the near approach of spring and its attendant flower show I, as a novice daffodil grower, am anxious to securo some assistance. I believe the honour of the National Daffodil Show being held in Wanganui must bo upheld by the lovers of this (lower who reside in this city, and 1 intend to do my possible. The following are some of the things I desire to know, ami feel sure main others would bo interested in the answers to these questions: What arc the points of an exhibition bloom? How should they bo staged’ What is the procedure of getting the blooms from the garden on to the show stand? Those are the main points as I see them, but there may be others ami 1 should be pleased for enlightenment on this subject. If I may, I should like to make a suggestion to those at the head of the horticultural affairs of this city. Would it not be a good idea to have a public lecture and demonstration on daffodil culture prior to the show? Something of this kind, where the points governing this flower could be shown, and how to proceed with staging blooms would, I i'.m sure, draw a large attendance. Thanking you for your valuable spate. I am. pic., INTER ESTED.
