SCHOOL ADMISSION AGE
►Sir. — As a parent interested in the school entrance age, 1 was rather surprised to sqo by your paper that tae .Education B'oard decided to send to the Minister of Education, without comment, the request of a school committee that the board urge the Minister to bring about the re-admission to schools of five-year-old children. 1 understand that practically every parent with young children are desirous of having the schools enrol the children when they reach five years of age. I understand also that board members arc elected by school committees to administer the affairs by the schools in general. Am I to take from the newspaper item that the board is not in favour of the re-admission of five-year-olds or is it just indifferent.' Purely this body of men, interested in the education of our children, could do more with the request before mentioned, than send it to the Minister without comment. J feel sure that school committees and interested parents will have little faith in a ‘board that shows little interest in a matter so vitally important. “INTERESTED/'
