IMPROVEMENT SCHEME. PALM EUSTON N.. Aug. 21. Some concern has been felt in Palm erston North recently that, the task of jireparing Milson Aerodrome to act as the terminus of the inter island air ferrv to be conducted by I nion Air v.ays has not. been characterised by sufficient expenditure owing to the small number of men (30) employed on the job to date. Yesterday a ..••putatiun from the cily, consisting of the Mayor (Mr. A. L. Mansford), Messrs. 11. E. Edmunds, D. I* Smillie, and K. G. Chamberlain, to get her with Messrs. .1. A. Nash and J. Linklater, M.P.'s wailed on the Minis ter of Public Works (I he Hon. .1. Kitchener), re|>iesent:i't i ves of the De fence Department, and Uncmployment Board at Wellington to discuss the mat ter in an endeavour to increase the rate at which the improvements are being carried out. A definite assurance was given the dejmtation by Mr. Kitchener that the landing field would be sufli eiintly advanced for the ojiening ceremony. which at present, has been fixed to take place in December.
