PASTY AT FLOCK HOUSE On Friday evening a party of MarLonians, numbering over 45, journeyed tu Hock House, where a very enjoyable evening was spent. The’organic were Mrs.. F. Brice, Miss Simpson and members of the Junior Division of the W.D.F.U. Colouej Powles, principal of Flock House, welcomed the visitors. The bali-room was decorated .n Japanese style, and in alcoves were great bowls of prunus, while the music -anje from a loud-speaker like a great moon at the back of the stage. Japanese lanterns and a profusion of gieenery made the scene a charming Between the dances the following items were given:—Sailor’s hornpipe, Miss Isla Parkinson; comic song impersonating a “dude,” Miss- Leonore Wilkie; song. After supper had been served, Col onol Powles thanked the orga.nisers and other visitors for their kindness and thoughtfulness in arranging the party, and expressed the hope that it would not be long before another visit was made to Flock House. PAREWANUI SCHOOL DANCE Bulls Town Hall was crowded on Thursday evening when the Parewanui School dance was held. Parewanui residents were there in full force, and buses brought many patrons from Mar-

ton and Palmerston North. A professional band of five players provided splendid music. The bon. secretary, Mr. Walter Hart, and the M.C., Mr. Les Sanson carried out their duties admirably, while the supper arrangements (in charge of the ladies) were very satisfying. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss E. Wasson and Mr. A. Young, and in the card room most games of euchre were won by Miss M. Teko and Mr. E. Sayers. A number of novelties added to the fun of the dance, which was voted most enjoyable and successful.
