INTER-BIBLE CLASS MOVEMENT
' COMPETITIONS TO BE PROMOTED Preparations are being made fur the second annual competition to be promoted by the Wanganui Inter-Bible Class Movement. A very comprehensive schedule has been isued ami the committee announces that the following judges have been appointed: Vocal and musical: Madame Betts Vincent. Folk dancing: Miss J. Paterson, of ■ Bedford House. Elocution and plays: Rev. and Mrs. I W. Lambert. } Entries, which close next Wednesday I week, are being solicited from active;' Bible das s members and from Bible ” class members actively engaged in | some form of Church work which pre- j eludes their attendance at Bible class. ? The Buxton Banner is to be competed ? for. This will go to the church which |< secures the most points, but an allowance will be made to the smaller j ’ churches to enable them to compete , j with a fair chance of success against j , the larger ones. i The schedule includes: Part song/ (eight to 20 voices), test hymn.? “Manx Fisherman’s Hymn,” ami a,. | second number, own selection; quar- I tette, ladies’ trio, duct, solo (girls | under 16), soprano or inezzo solo, cor- , tralto solo, tenor solo, bass or baritone solo, humorous recitation (girl or boy under 18, young men or women j over 18); non-humorous recitation for the same classes; prepared speech on ' one of five subjects listed; Impromptu j speech, Bible reading, one-act play. , Scripture dramatisation, folk dancing, j three pianoforte classes, one violin ' class and special section of Sunday ; school children children's choir’. (“Where’er You Walk” and one selec- I: 'lion); Scripture memory test.
