DISASTROUS FLOODS
DESTRUCTION IN JAPAN FIFTY TWO DEATHS REPORTED Received Aug. 25. 7.5 p.m. TOKIO, Aug. 24. Fifty-two were killed and 75 injured, while 1290 houses and 20,000 acres of rice fields and apple orchards were seriously damaged in a series of disastrous floods and landslides at Owani, North Japan, following tha heaviest rains for 50 years.
