IRREGULAR ACTION
NORFOLK ISLAND CASE REMOVAL OF OFFICIAL SYDNEY, Aug. 24. A message from Norfolk island states that Judge Coyle, of Sydney, has concluded the hearing of an action by Charles Ray Nobbs against Captain C. K. Finney, the present Administrator, for alleged wrongful dismissal from the office of President of the Executive Council. Nobbs’ case was that Captain Pinnoy wrongly convened a special meeting of the Executive Council, over which he. presided, and unlawfully submiteed to rhe meeting a motion purporting to remove Nobbs from the presidency. Nobbs clnimel £3090 damages. Th’e Judge found that the Adminis trator had acted irregularly in culling the meeting, which was Vhe President’s prerogative, and awarded the plaintiff nominal damages. The Judge commented that the only real damage tho pkiintiff had suffered was to his pride, lie added that it was most re grottable that the island was in such a troubled stale.
