WANGANUI CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP CONTESTS. BRAMWELL COURSE RACING. The Wanganui Harrier Club held their annual championships race over 9 the new Bramwell course of 6.J miles on 111 Saturday in fine weather. j The winner of the senior champion- ( I ship was C. Weller, who had been successful in the corresponding event last , v year. After an interval of a little lc more than 30sec. he was followed by K. Johnston, with A. Bourgeois a IS further 27 seconds back, and G. Johnston another G seconds behind Bourgeois. Cj The junior championship, whicn is n- run in conjunction with the senior race, >r was won by A. Bevege, who finished in id fifth place in the race. He was followed closely by A. Penbcrthy (sixth). I - ihese two raced neck and neck right throughout the race, and it was only 50 yards from the tape that Bevege sprinted from I’enberthy and annexed • the title. Credit is due to both of these runners, who shaped exceptionally well. X. Hopper, another promising runner, was the third junior to finish. s.
