Forecast.—Winds: Westerly at first in the Cook Strait area and between Banks Peninsula and East Cape, otherwise south-westerly prevailing, moderate to strong generally and of gale force in exposed positions, but gradually decreasing in force. Seas (New Zealand waters': Rough and high on the west coast of the North Island and on the Otago coasts rather rough, rough elsewhere, but later moderating generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh to strong south-west winds and rough seas. Weather: Alainly fair in eastern districts south of East Cape, but still somewhat changeable generally, with scattered showers. Conditions, honever, gradually improving. Temperatures cold.
