The final game* in the competition run by the Primary Schools’ Basketball Association were played yesterday laftcrnoon on the Queen’s Park School [court between the following teams: j Senior. — Upokongaro (Eastern) and ICastlecliff (Western). Junior.— W’aniganui East (Eastern) and Queen’s Park (Western). The games resulted in a win for Upokdngaro in the senior division, and for Wanganui East in the junior division. The scores being:—Upokongaro LT, CastJccliff S; AVanganui East 9, Queen’s Park 6. During the winter term the competi tion has been keenly contested by teams from the following schools:—Upokongaro, Aranioho, Wanganui East, (..'as tiecliff, Gonvillc, Tawhero, Queen’s lark, St. Alary’s Convent. St. Anthony’s Convent, Durie Jlill and Bal lance, Campbell, Taylor and Wakefield Ileuses from the Intermediate School As in previous years the competition was run in two division, Eastern and W'cstern, the winning teams of each section to play off for the shields. Aliss AfcNiven. of the Technical Col lege, acted as referee for both matches. Ar the conclusion of the games th<> shields were presented to the captains of the winning teams by Mr. F. Gaze, president of the Headmasters’ Association. On behalf of the headmasters. Mr. Grze congratulated the association on the successful running of the tourna ment and the friendly spirit exhibited throughout by all teams. He then called for three cheers for the winning teams. Later the visiting teachers and their i friends were the guests of the association at afternoon tea.
