ST. JOHN’S CLUB ANNUAL AIEETING HELD. OFFICERS ELECTED. 'l'he annual meeting of the St. John's Lawn Tennis Club was held in the Rendezvous 'Pea Rooms, Air. John Coull, the patron, presiding over a good attendance. 'l’he annual report, an balance-sheet showed the gratifying result of a year’s work by the outgoing coin mittee. The definite improvement of the financial aspect was favourably commented on. 'l’he election of officers for the season 1935-36 resulted as follows:—■ Patron, Mr. John Coull; president, Mr. J. E. Marshall; vice-president, Messrs Cunningham. \V. Purnell, P. Russ, Al I. Lampe. E. D. Bonnett, K. H. Houn sell, W. G. Bellows, J. Dempsey and Mrs. Eric Wcllwood; dub captain, Mr. IL Cox; vice-captain, Mr. 1,. Smaller; hon. secretary, Mr. V. H. Fennell; hon treasurer, C. W. Beadle; hou. auditor J. Kearney; delegate W.L.T.A., J. F. Marshall. L. Smaller, 11. Cox: general committee. Misses Gillies, Bansfield, Piper, Hair and Hart; G Beade, P. Crawford, (). Miller, H. Parnell, E. Ogier, Couch man and Watson. In moving a vote of thanks to the outgoing working committee, Mr. Couil made particular mention of Mr. W. !•’. J’urcell, the retiring president, who had been an old and tried frienfl not only of the club but also of tennis generally.
