The Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union’s Knock-out competition will be commenced to-morrow, when several lower grade matches will also be played. County Club. Juniors v. Pirates un Racecourse at 1.30 p.m. Pirates win by default. TO PLAY AT MARTON WANGANUI OLD BOYS JUNIORS. TEAM FOR TOMORROW. Owing to the Kaierau Thirds defaulting from their engagement to play Old Boys to-morrow, a match has now been arranged between Marton Old Boys juniors and Wanganui Old Boys. This will take place at Marton, the kick-off being timed for 2.30 p.m. The Wanganui team will leave Martin and Vernon ’s garage at 1 p.m.
The Wanganui and Old Boys team is as follows: —Holz, Carveil, Allen, Westbrook, Stroud, Allwood, Trikott, Kitney, Lucas, Reece, Cooke, Neilson, Fletcher, Hoar, Mitchell, Macneil, Northover, Baldwin.
The manager will be Mr. W. J. Galvin, the coach. Those unable to make the trip are requested to notify the deputy captain, C. B. Stroud (’phone 2804).
